Portara Ensemble Presents: Canticles – Songs of Brother Sun & Sister Moon
The Cumberland River Compact has been selected as Portara Ensemble’s Community Partner for their upcoming concert, “Canticles – Songs of Brother Sun & Sister Moon.” Thanks to generous support from Portara’s donors, funders, and corporate sponsors, 100% of ticket sales will go directly to supporting the Compact’s work!
Experience the medieval literature of St. Francis of Assisi in a multi-movement work for chorus, piano, and string orchestra, presented by Portara Ensemble. The Canticle of Brother Sun & Sister Moon inspires and challenges us to care for the world around and within us as a manifestation of the divine. This concert will celebrate Francis’ radical vision – updated for the needs of the 21st century – and will feature the world premiere of Portara Artistic Director Jason Shelton’s new setting of the Canticle.
