Sevenmile Creek Cleanup

Join the Cumberland River Compact for a streamside litter cleanup along the banks of Sevenmile Creek in South Nashville! Sevenmile Creek is a highly flood-prone waterway in an asphalt-covered urban area, and as a result, it accumulates a lot of litter. In fact, in August 2025, Compact volunteers removed 1,562 pounds of trash from this location! Winter is a great time to clean streams because volunteers can access hard-to-reach areas that might be blocked by vegetation in the summer– so we’re expecting this to be an extra-impactful trip.
Sevenmile Creek is a tributary of Mill Creek, which feeds into the Cumberland River, so the litter it accumulates affects the Cumberland River basin at large. Your participation in this cleanup is part of a larger effort to preserve the health and beauty of Nashville’s waterways for future generations. By giving this important waterway a refresh, we can protect local wildlife and prevent pollutants from entering the downstream Cumberland River.
