Introduction to e-STEM Teacher Workshop

Join teachers from middle Tennessee to learn the basics of incorporating environmental topics into your curriculum. From biodiversity to water quality, this workshop will include hands-on activities and resources for K – 8th grades.
Did you know that Tennessee is the most biodiverse state without a coastline? There are more than 325 fish species found in Tennessee alone. As we teach STEM concepts in our classroom, incorporating local knowledge about the environment gives students a connection to place and helps them see real-world applications. Come to this training to learn about Tennessee’s biodiversity, receive tips for place-based outdoor learning, and access resources for incorporating content into your classroom. This training is geared towards K – 8 teachers from any content background, but is open to all grade levels.
Teachers will receive a certificate for 3 hours of professional development.
