From Site to Stream: Success in Construction Stormwater Management

As the Middle Tennessee region continues to grow, understanding and adhering to best construction practices is key to improving water quality. In this technical session, Hannah Riether, Civil Engineer with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, will cover key updates to Tennessee’s Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control (EPSC) Handbook, including additions such as the Seed Mix Appendix and Stream Stabilization guidance. The presentation will explore what’s new, why these updates matter, and how to effectively apply them to your site designs and field practices.
In addition, the session will highlight the Five Pillars of Construction Stormwater, with a focus on improving compliance and on-site performance. Whether you’re an engineer, inspector, or contractor, this session will provide valuable insights to strengthen your stormwater management approach.
This presentation is part of the Cumberland River Compact’s professional education training series, which promotes best practices and innovative approaches in stormwater. Professional development hour (PDH) certificates are available for all attendees.
