Environmental Science for MNPS: Diving into Quarter Three

December 2, 2025
TEACHER WORKSHOP ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE FOR MNPS: DIVING INTO QUARTER THREE DECEMBER 2, 2025 SESSION 1: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM SESSION 2: 11:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Join the Cumberland River Compact and environmental science teachers from across Metro Nashville Public Schools to design an interactive unit that focuses on water! Use intriguing real-world phenomena introduced by the Compact (or your own!) to design materials that support students in exploring water content for quarter three.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Reflect on student learning during the last quarter by exchanging feedback with your peers. Bring an artifact that shows student learning (an assessment or activity) to facilitate conversation!
  • Start planning your quarter three learning in collaboration with your teacher peers.
  • Design a phenomenon-driven unit that incorporates activities from your McGraw-Hill curriculum and the Cumberland River Compact’s work.

Breakfast or lunch, coffee, and snacks will be provided.

This workshop is exclusively for environmental science teachers with Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS).

Registration is required through MNPS’s PowerSchool. There will be two sessions: one from 8:00 am to 11:00 am and another from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Both sessions will cover the same material; please choose the one that is most convenient for you. You must receive approval from your administrator to attend.
