Jason Sprouls is the Urban Waters Division Manager at the Cumberland River Compact. His primary job function is to manage the Root Nashville campaign. He has a master’s degree in forestry with an urban forestry specialization from Virginia Tech, is an ISA board-certified arborist, and is ISA Tree Risk Assessment-qualified (TRAQ). Jason’s interdisciplinary skill set includes dendrology, tree risk assessment and mitigation, urban hydrology, and stormwater management. His ability to connect people with nature has shaped his dedication to the world of urban forestry. He was deeply inspired by his previous position at the Neighborhood Design Center in Prince George’s County, Maryland, where he coordinated the Right Tree, Right Place street tree program. Jason is from the Washington D.C. area, and now resides in West End/Acklen Park. He has a loving, rambunctious dog named George and an aquatic frog (George Lopez). He loves the NFL and stand-up comedy.
