Gray Perry

Watershed Science and Restoration Program Manager

Gray is the Watershed Science and Restoration Program Manager at the Cumberland River Compact. In his role, Gray facilitates stream restoration activities and writes watershed restoration planning documents to guide restoration activities across the Cumberland River Basin.

Gray completed his B.S. in Geology and Environmental Studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2016 and his M.S. in Geosciences at Middle Tennessee State University in 2023. His undergraduate degree focused on ecosystem restoration and the intersection of people and the environment. His master’s degree program focused on hydrology, watershed management, and watershed modeling.

Gray started at the Cumberland River Compact in January 2017 as an Americorps member. After completing his term, he stayed on staff to manage the Volunteer Program, Adopt-A-Stream Program, and Rain Barrel Program. From 2021-2023, Gray transitioned to a part-time role as a Grant Manager while attending graduate school.

Born in Nashville, Gray grew up in Memphis and later on, Kingston Springs, TN. After completing his undergraduate degree in Knoxville, he returned to Nashville. Gray is an

avid cyclist, musician, and outdoor explorer, and he loves all the wonderful opportunities there are in Tennessee to pursue these hobbies.
