Water Careers for the Classroom Teacher Workshop

Professionals in the water industry are responsible for ensuring that clean water makes it to our homes, businesses, and schools. They also ensure that after water is used, it is cleaned before re-entering our waterways. We are fortunate in Tennessee to have a relative abundance of water; however, the people who make this process happen are in short supply!
This workshop for educators will start with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Cleveland water treatment plant, where we will explore the resources and careers that go into the water treatment process. Next, teachers will head to Bradley County’s Partnerships in Industry and Education Center to further discuss careers in the water industry and practice activities that incorporate water content into a middle/high school curriculum. The Careers in Water workshop is a great way to find real-world examples to bring to your classroom – and to connect your students to workforce opportunities in their community. This workshop is best for 6th – 12th grade teachers of science, STEM, and CTE, but it is open to all educators.
Note: Address and location information will be sent to attendees.
