The highly anticipated Nashville SC MLS Opening Match Day will kick off February 29th with the planting of over 100 trees on Davidson St. alongside the Cumberland River to help capture stormwater and improve our urban tree canopy. The planting, in partnership with Nashville Soccer Club, MLS WORKS, Metropolitan Nashville Department of Public Works, Metro Water Services, and CSDG, will feature music, fun, and service on the morning of the game and demonstrates the League’s commitment to addressing their greenhouse gas footprint.
The planting is the first activity as part of a larger Green Street Project that the Compact will be leading along Davidson Street this year. We are also giving away plants and trees the day of the event for volunteers to plant at home!
You won’t want to miss this exciting day! Come team up with Nashville SC, Atlanta United FC supporters, and the Compact for an exciting service event!
We’d also like to thank Councilman Brett Withers for all of his work to make this happen!
Bring a reusable water bottle. Closed-toe shoes are required, and boots are recommended. Please dress in clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. We provide work gloves, tools, water, and snacks.
