(Re)Building Ecosystems in Tennessee and LEED v5 Leadership Series
Join USGBC Tennessee and the Cumberland River Compact for a Building Transformation Forum and Leadership Series event focused on ecological conservation and restoration and the potential of LEED v5 to address critical impact areas including decarbonization, biodiversity, resilience, equity and health.
This convening will begin with a forum session exploring “Nashville’s Green Evolution” through a tour of the Neuhoff District, which holds multiple LEED certifications, and discussion of Cumberland River Compact’s water conservation efforts. Tennessee’s diverse ecosystems, from the Appalachians to the Mississippi, face development and climate pressures. This forum addresses our state’s unique needs: stormwater management, habitat protection, and sustainable growth. We’ll explore how LEED v5 and SITES provide practical strategies to build resilient communities statewide, from Memphis to Mountain City.
Next, we’ll take a deeper dive into LEED v5, the latest version of the globally recognized LEED green building rating system, in a session led by USGBC staff and key technical contributors involved in LEED v5’s development. Speakers will provide an overview of the system’s goals and impact areas and highlight LEED v5’s value in meeting organizational needs and enhancing performance and market competitiveness.
Attendees will learn about real-world adoption strategies, available resources and best practices to streamline certification, and proven approaches to achieving priorities around decarbonization, ecological conservation and preservation, and quality of life.
