Canceled: 14th Annual Cumberland River Dragon Boat Festival
September 12 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Our annual Dragon Boat Festival has been canceled this year due to COVID-19. We hope to have everyone on the water next year! LONG LIVE THE DRAGONS!
Originating in China more than 2,000 years ago, Dragon Boat is a 250-meter race that helps to highlight the history and culture of the region while embracing a fun competition and team building while supporting a great cause.
The Cumberland River Compact is going on its 14th year of hosting the Dragon Boat races off the East Bank Landing of the Cumberland River, just at the end of Lower Broadway in Downtown Nashville. A series of four-boat heats will race a roughly 200 meter stretch of the Cumberland River between the Woodland Street Bridge to the Shelby Street Walking Bridge, to the Grand Champion prize. The races engage Nashville’s most competitive teams to claim the Grand Champion title, all the while fundraising to support the work of the Cumberland River Compact to keep the Cumberland River and its tributaries clean and healthy for future generations.
