Browns Creek Walk & Talk

Join the Cumberland River Compact as we blend stewardship and education for a unique, hands-on walk & talk experience along Browns Creek!
Great environmental stewardship is not just about hard work, but also about making community connections to nature. At this event, you’ll learn how people have shaped the land and water of Browns Creek in and around the Nashville Fairgrounds. You’ll also hear about the ecology of the creek and how green infrastructure at GEODIS Park protects it.
Participants can also expect to enjoy:
- A meet-and-greet with live creek critters from Browns Creek, whose presence is a scientific indicator of stream health
- A virtual reality experience that drops you straight into the action of Browns Creek and some of the Cumberland River Compact’s biggest restoration projects
The discussion will be simple and open-ended—no science background is needed to enjoy this event.
By the end of the evening, you will have a deeper understanding of how to “read” a landscape through a scientist’s eyes and notice the connections between land, water, and people.
Meet-up and Parking: Registrants will receive an email with details closer to the event.
