Caroline Hutchins is the Working Lands Program Manager at the Cumberland River Compact. In her role, she manages the River Friendly Farms program, farmer education and outreach, minor stream bank repair, and abandoned mine lands programs.
She has a degree in English from Northeastern University and a decade of experience working on farms from Whidbey Island, Washington to Tennessee. She is the Board Secretary for the Tennessee Local Food Summit and is a member of the Women Farmers of Middle Tennessee.
Prior to working for the Cumberland River Compact, Caroline managed Sounding Stone Farm, a small mixed vegetable market garden. She still enjoys working on the farm, which is now a community-centric farm intended to feed her neighbors and family. She lives on the farm in Joelton with her husband Stephen, their daughter Elouise, and their rescue pitbull, Ginger.
