Before water comes out of your tap, it goes through a rigorous process of treatment and testing in order to meet standards set by the EPA for drinking water. In this lesson, explore some of the water quality tests done on the water during the treatment process, choose a disinfection method for a hypothetical water treatment plant, and explore the use of orthophosphate as a preventative additive to protect against lead and copper entering water through pipes.
