Plants and animals possess a variety of physical and behavioral adaptations that support growth and survival in different environments across Tennessee. Studying the amazing organisms living in our own backyard provides us with a deeper understanding of the importance of a living creature’s ability to adapt and survive.

Written in collaboration with Vickie Stem, a Tennessee educator, as part of our e-STEM for Tennessee’s Teachers program.
