Urban Waters: An e-STEM for Tennessee’s Teachers Experiential Training

Tuesday November 8th
9am-12pm
Location: Tennessee State University Research Farm & Wetland
1946 Ed Temple Blvd, Nashville, TN 37208
Free
Space is limited
Grades: K-12

Training is open to teachers of all grades, but content will be geared to upper elementary through high school

Water is everywhere and connects students to their local environment and community. Join the Cumberland River Compact for an exploration of an urban water and wetland ecosystem in Nashville. We will spend the morning exploring how water moves through the urban environment and visit a local water ecosystem. We will collect and analyze water samples to determine the health of the waterway. Teachers will learn how natural areas help reduce flooding, create habitats, and improve water quality. We will explore ways we as people can help steward and promote the natural water systems in an urban setting. Grab your boots (or old sneakers) and come explore!
A PD certificate will be sent to you following the training.
This training is part of the e-STEM for Tennessee’s Teachers program.
