Oracle – Kayak Clean Up

June 18 @ 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
CUMBERLAND RIVER KAYAK CLEANUP JUNE 18 Noon Join the Compact and Cumberland Kayak & Adventure Company for a kayak cleanup on the river!

Volunteers will take off from the Shelby Park Boat Ramp and enjoy scenic river recreation while removing litter from the Cumberland River’s banks.

This cleanup is being held in partnership with Oracle, and we are excited to work together to make a tangible impact in the community. Whether you are a first-time paddler or a seasoned kayaker, your efforts will directly contribute to a cleaner and healthier watershed.

No prior kayak experience or volunteer orientation is required—just a positive attitude and a willingness to help Middle Tennessee waterways.  Volunteers must be able to meet the physical demands of a ~3 mile kayak route.  Paddlers will navigate to downtown Nashville where a shuttle will be waiting to transport participants back to the launch point in Shelby Park.

What to Bring & Wear:

  • Clothing and shoes that can get wet and dirty. No flip flops or backless slides, please!
  • A hat and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun.
  • A reusable water bottle to stay hydrated and a snack to keep your energy up.

What We Provide:

  • Kayaks and paddles, gloves, litter grabbers, trash bags, and all necessary cleanup materials.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Registration below is required to participate. Every volunteer must complete their own registration, and volunteers under 18 must ensure a parent or guardian acknowledges the volunteer agreement below.
