North Nashville Depave Volunteer Planting

Join the Cumberland River Compact for an afternoon of planting across three freshly depaved neighborhood locations in North Nashville. Volunteers will install a variety of native flowers, shrubs (in 1–5 gallon containers), and 10-gallon trees as part of the Compact’s work to protect water quality in the nearby Tiger Bay Wetland.
These plantings are an important component of ongoing efforts to reduce flooding and water pollution in North Nashville by depaving and installing green infrastructure. By replacing impervious surfaces with native vegetation, these projects help capture rainfall, filter trash, oil, and chemicals, provide habitat for wildlife, and create healthier neighborhoods.
Volunteers will split up among project sites as needed and assist with digging, planting, mulching, watering, and general landscape installation. No prior experience is necessary—staff will provide instruction and all necessary tools and supplies.
