Minor Stream Bank Repair Workshop and Certification
February 28 - March 1
$50
Join us for an interactive workshop and a chance to earn your certificate in Stream Bank Repair practices.
NC State University and the Cumberland River Compact will provide practical, cost-effective solutions, using natural materials and native plants, to create a healthy streamside. Attendees will participate in hands-on stream protection practices including harvesting live-staked native plants and/or installing live-stakes on a stream. These techniques are designed for minor stream bank repairs (stream banks less than 5ft).
The two-day workshop will include a classroom day with information on the techniques, regulation considerations, and best practices. The second day will focus on hands-on implementation of the practices. The workshop will be held in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
A certification exam will be provided after the workshop. Those who receive a passing grade of 80% or above will be recognized as Certified in Stream Bank Repair by the Cumberland River Compact and certified individuals will be added to our list of Certified Stream Bank Repair Professionals.
