Giving Tuesday at the Cumberland River Compact
November 28

Giving Tuesday is a “global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world” and takes place of November 28, 2023.
The Cumberland River Basin spans 18,000 square miles and is one of the most biodiverse regions of the world. For Giving Tuesday, we’re matching all gifts up to $18,000 to restore and protect the 18,000 square miles in the basin.
Our water is our future. Your gift will ensure that streams are restored, forests are replenished, and the water in the Cumberland River Basin is protected for generations to come.
The Cumberland River Compact addresses the root causes of water pollution with strategic programs and initiatives.
- River Friendly Farms educates farmers on sustainable agriculture methods that protect nearby creeks and streams.
- The Stream Restoration program restores habitat for aquatic species helping to grow populations and protect biodiversity.
- The Root Nashville campaign is restoring Nashville urban tree canopy to control erosion, mitigate flooding, and filter runoff before it reaches the waterways.
- The Education program teaches kids the importance of water stewardship and how to care for the environment.
- Initiatives such as pocket prairies, rain garden construction, and depaving projects.
