Gallatin Water Week

June 23 - June 29

Gallatin Water Week arrives June 23rd to June 29th, 2024.

Join the Cumberland River Compact in celebrating the first annual Water Week in the City of Gallatin! Businesses and organizations across the city are invited to share the importance of clean and abundant water with their community.

Ways to Celebrate:

This year’s Gallatin Water Week theme is Education, Recreation, and Conservation! You can celebrate the week by participating in an event or learning more about what you can do at home to have a positive impact on our water.

Learning from Nature featuring Creek Critters (June 26th): Help us kick off Water Week by participating in a hands-on educational event at a local park. Join us in celebrating the environmental victories that keep our waterways clean. We’ll talk about pollution, stream ecology, and efforts to improve Town Creek’s health. Location: Bledsoe Creek State Park from 4pm to 6pm.

Experience Your Waterways at Waterfest (June 28th): At this free event, attendees will learn about the importance of clean water through engaging in environmental activities suitable for the entire family. Activities include two waterslides, prize giveaways, music, and a family-favorite dance party! The first 200 attendees will receive a free snow cone to help beat the heat. If you can’t make it to Waterfest, you can still get out and have some fun with all of the wonderful water access in Gallatin! Find a local spot to swim, hike, kayak, and experience local wildlife.

Clean Up for Clean Water along the Town Creek Greenway (June 29th): Join the Compact as we celebrate the conclusion of Gallatin Water Week with a cleanup along the idyllic Town Creek Greenway! This is an on-foot stream cleanup and will involve both stream bank and in-stream pickup of litter to beautify this community asset and protect wildlife that call this creek home. Registration on VolunteerHub is required to participate.

Going Green for Good at home and in your community: If you can’t join us at any of the events taking place throughout the week, you can still help make a difference. From big park projects to small home gardens, everyone can make an impact on water quality! Learn about actions and techniques that you can implement locally to do your part for clean water.

Get Involved:

Businesses and community organizations can participate in Gallatin Water Week in many different ways! You can share information on your social media channels, hang up a Water Week poster, join us for our cleanup in your neighborhood, donate a prize to giveaway throughout the week, or host the Cumberland River Compact staff in your store.

If you are a business or community organization interested in participating in Gallatin Water Week, you can sign up to show your support or simply reach out to for more details.
