An Introduction to Stormwater Control Measure Maintenance

June 13 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Stormwater Control Measure Maintenance event on June 13

Stormwater Control Measures, also known broadly as Green Infrastructure, have rapidly become an approach of interest in the stormwater management field for municipalities, private developments, and residents. If not properly maintained, stormwater control measures (SCMs) can quickly become ineffective. Maintenance of SCMs is different from traditional landscape maintenance and requires a different set of technical skills and knowledge. This talk will cover the basic categories of SCMs and best practices in their proper maintenance. This presentation is ideal for contractors, developers, and engineers as well as HOAs and other residents who maintain stormwater control measures.

This presentation will be led by Chris Hornsby, Field Division Manager at the Cumberland River Compact. Chris has vast experience in agroforestry, soil restoration, horticulture, arboriculture, and urban ecosystems. He is a National Green Infrastructure Certified Professional with expert training in design, installation, and site management, among other things. At the Cumberland River Compact, he leads the Field Division’s work to assist with riparian plantings, soil restoration, rain garden design, and urban tree canopy restoration.
